Manikya Vara Prasada Rao, will release the results at the office of the director of government examinations in Abids.

Nearly 14.5 lakh students had appeared for SSC exams in the state this year.
These results assume significance as the state government has decided to give grades instead of awarding "first class," "second class," "third class" and "failed category" from this year.

Students will now be graded as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2 and E. The grades will be given on a 12.5 per cent scale from the top. For instance, the top 12.5 per cent of the total "passed" students will get A1 grade.

The next 12.5 per cent of the students will be awarded A2 grade and this will go on till D2 grade. Those who fail to secure 35 per cent of the marks in any subject will get an E-grade and these students will be treated as "failed" candidates.

"Apart from awarding grades, we have decided to give photocopies of the first and second language papers to the students for a small fee from this year."

"We will collect Rs 500 per paper if the students apply for photocopies within one month and Rs 1,000 per paper if they between 31 and 60 days. Applications received after two months will not be considered," said Ms Pronoti Suhasini Kavoori, director, SSC Board.
